After we finished our Underground tour, we all decided to go exploring around Seattle a little and get some dinner before the husband and I made the trek home. One thing that always catches my eye is graffiti or street art.
Now there is a big difference between graffiti and street art. To me, graffiti is someone writing initials or some sort of symbol that doesn’t mean much to anyone except a small group of people worried about their turf. To me, street art is something that actually adds something positive or beautiful to the environment.
This piece of art caught my eye because of its bright colors and really REALLY odd looking sea creature-ish thing set against a really awesome building.
Then, when we crossed the street I looked back and saw that the creature extended into a lot more artwork down the side of the building! Isn’t it fascinating? This is the type of street art I like to see.
But here’s the funny part. I showed these pictures to my husband and he doesn’t even remember seeing them. I think he was too busy talking with our friends and trying to figure out what to do next that he completely missed this awesome piece of art.
LOL! Correct, I don’t remember seeing this artwork, but I’m really happy you captured the moment. Awesome pictures as always.
