I’ve been having a lot of success with shooting in Aperture mode, so when I was outside creeping out the neighbors by sitting on the curb taking pictures I decided to see how the camera’s perspective changed the area my camera would focus on.
So neat! I was shocked at how these pictures looked when I finally got to look through them on the computer.
This top shot was taken with the camera sitting actually sitting on the street. Luckily the little screen on my camera pops out and lets me use the screen to frame and focus the shot. Unfortunately it also really eats away at your battery life, so I think extra batteries should be in everyone’s bag.
These shots were taken with my 55-200mm lens, with the aperture set as high as I could get it (about 5.6f) but I was able to get such awesome blur because of the zoom on it. I don’t get nearly the amount of awesome zoom on my kit lens at that aperture, so for now I’ll use the 55-200mm to fake my macro shots.
I still want to get and experiment with a 50mm lens to see if they really are great with the depth of field as everyone says.
I’m really going to miss these fall colors!
