I love my husband. He’s a geek and I accept that about him. I am very supportive, even if it means being his “booth babe” for a day or two at an expo/show that he gets a booth/table at. Mostly this means that I watch the booth for any breaks he needs, to feed the geeks, and sometimes I even sell stuff! This part is hilarious since retro computers or gaming is not my thing at all, but I can fake it enough that people actually believe what I’m talking about.
Believe me when I say this is stinkin hilarious since most of this stuff is older than me and I have only touched a Commodore once. Ever.
This last one was back in April (I know, I suck at getting pictures up quickly) and while most geek shows I could care less about, this one is actually for a good cause.
This show was a fundraising event for the Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center (CJAC), and they tend to make a pretty nice donation to the group between all of the entrance donations and what the vendors all donate. This was their 3rd year doing this expo and I think it was their biggest yet. Bravo guys!
Our table was for my husband’s Commodore Computer Club so the majority of our stuff dealt with retro computing. Most of this stuff came out before I was born so its got some wear to it. I mostly stayed behind the booth or escaped with another of the wife’s I know from the monthly meeting for a walk around the mall it was at.
They had lots of tables set up with old systems so people could relive their childhood.
And it was a gamer’s paradise for shopping.
I do admit buying one thing here. A cupcake from the booth next to me. He was randomly selling cupcakes and mouse pads. Awesome.
