There are many things I miss about being in Washington, and the biggest thing that I’ve struggled with is leaving my friends. Over the last 8 years we had really created a great network of friends. We would get together often and have dinner or drinks. And sometimes we had bonfires to keep us warm when the weather started to turn cooler.
At one of those bonfires our friends pulled out their dead and dried out Christmas tree. I had never heard of doing that, but then again I grew up in Southern California where we didn’t have many bonfires. Boy do those trees burn hot! We pretty much demolished the tree that night, and it was great fun.
